Policies & FAQs

At Cat Love Sitting, I aim to make everything as smooth and stress-free as possible for you and your cats. Here are my key policies and answers to common questions.

Booking & Payments

  • A free meet-and-greet is included when booked 1–3 weeks before your sit.
     

  • Meet-and-greets booked more than 3 weeks in advance are charged at £12 - this is a stand-alone fee that covers my time and travel for the early visit and is not deducted from your booking total.
     

  • All standard bookings require a £12 deposit to secure your dates (deducted from your total and non-refundable).
     

  • Holiday bookings (Christmas, New Year, Easter and Bank Holidays) - require a 25% deposit. This is subject to holiday cancellation policy below.
     

  • Full payment for your booking is due 24 hours before the first visit.
     

  • Deposits and early meet-and-greet fees are non-refundable if you decide not to proceed.​

Cancellations

Standard Bookings:

  • More than 24 hours notice - no charge (deposit non-refundable).
     

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice (or once visits have started) – full booking fee charged.
     

  • Early return: no refund is given if you return home early

Holiday Bookings (Christmas, New Year, Easter & Bank holidays):

Due to high demand and limited availability during these busy periods, a different cancellation policy applies:

  • A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.
     

  • Cancel with more than 14 days notice before your start date - your deposit will be refunded in full.
     

  • Cancel with 7-14 days notice: 50% of your deposit will be refunded.
     

  • Less than 7 days notice (or once visits have started) – non refundable and the full booking fee will still apply.
     

  • Early return: I am unable to offer refunds if you return home earlier than planned.

Amendments

  • Small changes (e.g. visit times or dates within the same booking period) can usually be accommodated at no extra cost
     

  • Any additional visits added to an existing booking will be charged at the standard rate.

Keys & Access

  • Key collection is usually arranged during your free meet-and-greet, unless you have a key safe.
     

  • If you'd like me to securely hold a key for future bookings, please let me know.
     

  • If using a key safe, please provide the code in advance of your booking.
     

  • Codes are stored safely and treated as confidential.
     

  • Please ensure the key safe is in good working order and accessible — missed visits due to faulty safes or incorrect codes are still chargeable.

Pet Care & Emergencies

  • I will follow your instructions on feeding, litter trays, and care routines.
     

  • If your cat requires medication, please provide clear instructions in advance.
     

  • In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will contact you immediately and, if needed, take your cat to your registered vet (all costs will remain your responsibility).

House & Security

  • I'll treat your home with the same care and respect it as my own.
     

  • I can adjust lights, curtains, bins, and post as requested to give your home a lived-in look while you’re away.
     

  • I am not liable for issues outside of my control (e.g., burglaries, utility failures).

Privacy

  • Your personal details are kept safe and used only for bookings.
     

  • I never share your information with third parties.
